Who We Are

Severn Church is a loving and friendly place to worship the Lord. We are a conservative church and believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God without error. We love to sing the "old hymns" and our special music every Sunday is outstanding.

Reverend Andrew Double

My name is Andrew Double, and I am married to my amazing wife, Julie Double. We are currently expecting twin boys this fall.

I grew up in western Pennsylvania on a beautiful farm where we raised beef cattle. After high school, I attended Slippery Rock University, where I earned a B.A. in History and received a commission in the United States Army as an officer, with an education delay to pursue service as a Chaplain.

Upon graduating college, I enrolled in seminary and graduated from Liberty University with a Master of Divinity. After seminary, I began serving as a pastor and was later approved for ordination as a Reverend through the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference. Following ordination, I was also selected to serve as a Chaplain in the United States Army Reserves.

During my time in the Army, I have had the opportunity to travel extensively, including a deployment of a little over 11 months to the Middle East. After returning from deployment, my wife and I decided to take on leadership positions at Chick-fil-A. We enjoyed that season of life, but the Lord soon placed a desire on our hearts to return to full-time ministry. From there, God directed our path to Severn Church

Severn Church is a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC)

The Conservative Congregational Christian Conference is a theologically conservative denomination believing strongly in the autonomy of each local church under the headship of Christ. Our member churches include those who are Congregational, Christian, and Evangelical and Reformed in their background, as well as independent Community churches. Our member ministers also come from diverse backgrounds. Though we are solidly committed to the basic doctrines of the Christian faith, we allow for diversity in many areas where Christians have tended to disagree. Though our members hold strong biblical convictions, we do not believe that Christians should divide over secondary issues. As an evangelical denomination, in obedience to Jesus Christ, we work together to advance the kingdom of our Lord through evangelism, church planting and missions.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible consisting of the Old and New Testament, to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God written.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling power and fullness the Christian is enabled to live a godly life in this present evil world.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ.
